I'm Andre Tšernikov, a software developer and technical lead with more than 15 years of experience across enterprise systems, logistics and defence. R-53 is my company for software development, with AI adoption consulting as part of the work.

What R-53 does

  1. Software development and modernisation

    Developing and modernising business software: .NET, React, integrations, software architecture and the infrastructure needed to run applications in production.

  2. AI-assisted delivery

    I design the workflows, direct coding agents, and take responsibility for architecture, review, testing and release decisions. My focus is making AI-generated changes practical to verify and maintain.

  3. AI adoption consulting

    Part of development engagements: deciding how AI-generated changes are reviewed, tested and released in an existing codebase, and which checks they need before they reach production.

Selected work

  1. Client work

    Business software for an architecture and engineering firm

    • Modernising a PHP/MySQL business system covering project budgets, time reporting and ERP integrations. Established version control, Docker development and test environments, obfuscated development data and repeatable releases.
    • Built an AI support assistant that investigates the codebase, creates tracked issues and connects them to agent implementation, code review and pull requests.
    • Developed multilingual search and question answering over technical standards, with Estonian/English retrieval and source citations.
    • Prototyped a read-only Claude Desktop integration for projects, budgets and working hours, using existing user permissions.
    • Assessed and prototyped a .NET/React rewrite, including the migration, testing and acceptance effort it would require.

  2. Co-founded

    Aruannik

    AI-assisted annual reports for Estonian micro-companies, live with paying customers. All of its code is written by AI agents; I designed and operate the system that directs, checks and releases their work, with human approval for legal, payment, credential and external-account decisions. Operated by Aruannik OÜ.

    Tools for coding-agent configuration, multi-model code review and automated delivery workflows in Claude Code and Codex.

About

Andre Tšernikov

I founded R-53 in 2012. At EDL, I led a five-person development team and delivered a major application from concept to production. At Helmes, I worked on enterprise logistics software, integrations, SQL performance and architecture consulting. Before that, I managed IT and developed business applications at DPD Eesti.

Alongside client and product work, I maintain open-source tools for coding-agent configuration, multi-model code review and delivery automation, and run local language models as coding and review workers in my development environment.

Engineer's degree in IT systems development, Estonian IT College (cum laude). I work in English, Estonian and Russian.
